Everest Base Camp Trek Gear List

Packing for an Everest Base Camp Trek requires careful planning to ensure you have all the essentials while keeping your load manageable. The following packing list should serve as a general guideline, but be sure to adjust it based on your specific needs and preferences. Keep in mind that conditions can vary depending on the time of year you're trekking.

Clothing:

1. Moisture-wicking base layers (long-sleeve tops and bottoms)

2. Insulating layers ( fleece and Dawn jacket )

3. Waterproof and windproof jacket and pants

4. Trekking pants (convertible ones are handy)

5. Warm hat and sun hat

6. Gloves (inner and outer layers)

7.  Underwear for 5/6 pic

8.  Socks 6 to 8 pairs

9. Hiking boots with good ankle support

10.  Sandals 1 pair per person

Major Trekking Gear List:

Day Backpack (35-45 liters)

1. Sleeping bag -20*C temperatures

2. Sleeping mattress (opt.)

3. Trekking poles (opt.)

4. Torch Light/Headlamp with extra batteries

5. Duffel bag or waterproof cover for your backpack

6. Locks for your duffel bag

 

Accessories:

Sunglasses with UV protection

 

1. Gaiters (for keeping snow and debris out of your boots)

2. Buff or neck gaiter

3. Bandana or scarf

4. Sunscreen and lip balm with high SPF

5. Water purification system (chlorine tablets, filter, or UV purifier)

6. Personal hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, etc.)

7. Quick-drying towel

8. Toilet paper (pack it out)

9. Pocket knife

10. Camera and extra batteries

11. Power bank (for recharging devices)

Medical Supplies:

Personal prescription medications

1. Basic first aid kit (band-aids, blister treatment, pain relievers, etc.)

2. Diamox (for altitude sickness prevention, consult a doctor)

3. Water purification tablets or drops

4. Duct tape (for gear repairs)

 

Optional Items:

Snacks and energy bars

1. Travel guidebook or maps

2. Journal and pen

3. Trekking poles

4. Earplugs

 

Documents:

Passport with visa (and copies)

1. Travel insurance documents

2. TIMS card (Trekkers' Information Management System card)

3. Permits (Sagarmatha National Park permit, Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality entry permit)
